Zilveren Linten, commissioned by the District of Antwerp, is an initiative focused on creating short and safe walking routes that cater specifically to the needs of the elderly population. This project aims to address the challenges faced by seniors when navigating city streets, considering their reduced physical mobility and increased risk of injury. By collaborating with external partners and incorporating valuable input from senior citizens, Zilveren Linten strives to not only improve the physical infrastructure but also raise awareness, encourage co-creation, and foster participation in the process.
Belgium
A creative solution for social interaction, and mobility
Village Point originated in small villages where all local shops had vanished, and its primary objective is to foster resource sharing and collaborative solutions among the residents. It encompasses three key domains: services, social interaction, and mobility.
From citizens’ initiative to energy cooperative
HagelandStroomt; a citizens-led initiative aimed to support SMEs in the province of Flemish Brabant in Belgium to implement energy-conserving measures and reduce their overall greenhouse gas emissions.
Helping people and the environment move forward
Energiesnoeiers (‘Energy Cutters’) are companies in the social economy of Flanders that carry out energy scans and energy-conserving measures like insulation of walls/roofs, preferably in the homes of socially and financially vulnerable people.
Towards renewable forms of energy
LICHT, Local Initiative for a Cooperative Renewable Transition, is an ambitious energy community project in Leuven focusing on the residents’ transition to renewable forms of energy while striving for a healthy and sustainable city.
