ACCTING aims to understand the impact of Green Deal policies on vulnerable groups, prevent inequalities, and produce knowledge and innovations to advance behavioural change at individual and collective levels for an inclusive and equal European Green Deal. This bottom-up initiative was collected by T. Bartosz Kalinowski within ACCTING’s mapping of inspiring practice cases, within Clean Energy and Climate Action research lines. Zero Waste Association, Poland
The Zero Waste Association aims to promote a zero-waste lifestyle by gathering local leaders, professionals, and change agents willing to participate in the organisation’s mission; transforming production and consumption patterns towards a circular economy. This enterprising idea suggests environmentally friendly solutions to fasten the just transition to a greener way of living for the benefit of the environment and the community.
Inspiration for small companies
The target of this project is small, vulnerable companies- those in greater need of partnership at the local level. The initiative supports these organisations by providing extensive expertise in the field, suggesting environmental measures to reduce waste, and offering solutions and inspiration for employees to adopt a waste-free lifestyle. In the long run, the vision will be to raise public awareness of resources while preventing waste from being generated at source. The Zero Waste Association has other related goals such as:
- Combating the impact of pollution on the environment and human health
- Eliminating the chemicals with toxic impacts on the environment
- Preventing the wastage of raw materials and the incorrect disposal of trash
- Promoting ecological awareness in the community and changing citizens’ behaviours for a greener transition
- Enhancing public access to data on pollution and waste production
