As ACCTING continues to explore how the European Green Deal and its associated policies impact vulnerable groups, the project is organising its next set of Open Studios — collaborative workshops designed to bring together experts from diverse fields to tackle key issues.
What are Open Studios?
ACCTING Open Studios are workshops where participants come together to dive deep into specific topics related to the Green Deal. The goal is to co-create actionable ideas that drive real change. Unlike traditional top-down policymaking, the Open Studio methodology combines collaboration, participatory design and creative techniques. By integrating user experiences and perspectives from experts across fields—whether researchers, policymakers, civil society representatives, or even artists, these sessions help shape more inclusive policies and action-solutions.
How do Open Studios work?
The two-day workshops are either held in person or digitally, making them accessible to a wide range of contributors.
During an Open Studio, participants engage in two key phases:
- Divergence – This is the creative brainstorming stage, where ideas flow freely as participants explore the topic from various angles.
- Convergence – In this phase, ideas are refined and shaped into concrete solutions. The use of personas helps participants step outside their personal experiences, fostering creativity and empathy.
